Specifically, the Auditor General performs financial and performance audits of state and local agencies that receive state funds or federal funds that have passed through the state government. The Department of the Auditor General currently performs approximately 5,000 audits each year. As Auditor General, Betsy will ensure state agencies receive the appropriate allocated tax money, spend the funds correctly and operate in an efficient manner.
